Upcoming and Past classes include:

February, 2018, John Shea with Frontier Booking International and Marius Bargielski of Metropolis Artists Agency.  These very seasoned and talented NYC agents came to share their experience and knowledge with our local actors.  Everyone learned what an agent does, how is it different than a manager, how do they get paid and how does one get an agent.  Each attendee then had private one-on-one meetings with each agent for personal feedback.  We also had break out sessions on self taping, social media and information on the DC market.  

November, 2017, Matthew Maisto. Matthew returned to DC again for another amazing workshop.  Everyone learned a lot about character development and how to look for clues in the script, as well as how to make bold choices when doing an audition.  Matthew always gives direct, honest feedback which the attendees really valued.   

October 2017, David Gray. Gray studios is a well known professional coaching group from LA and Atlanta.  They have had amazing success with their students.  You won't want to miss your opportunity to learn from the best there is!  David Gray will work on improv, audition technique and much more.  It was an amazing workshop and we can't wait to have them return soon. 

September, 2017, Kimberly Graham.  She covered cold reads and character review.  She has worked on Homeland for the last 7 seasons, as well as numerous other TV shows and feature Films.  This class was sold out and everyone learned so much. 


August, 2017  with Donna McKenna.  She covered improv, script review and on camera techniquest.  Her class was met with rave reviews and requests for her to return.  She casts indie feature films, tv shows and lots of other projects.  

October, 2016   Kyle Coker with Donna Deseta casting.   He covered commercial copy and gave some amazing advice.  He has years of experience casting thousands of commercials.  He was well received by the kids with his energy and natural relaxed way speaking to them.  They learned so much.  The adults walked away with a much better understanding on how to interpret the character and make their auditions stand out.  It was a wonderful workshop.

 

September 3, 2016    Andrew Chappelle   Andrew Chappelle of the hit Broadway show Hamilton taught the kids a dance combo from the show!  It was an amazing time.  He followed the dance portion with a Q and A on the historic show, then the kids got to show the parents what they learned.  The second portion of the workshop was a song workshop where he gave the kids direction and feedback on their song choice and delivery.  

 

 May 22, 2016    Barry Shaprio.   Barry Shapiro,owner of Herman & Lipson Casting in NY. This class is not to be missed. He will cover : Scripts with copy analysis, mock script audition,  facial expressions, one liners with direction, two person copy, Improv commercials, commercials with no dialogue,  and very importantly business Q & A.  Barry has been in casting for over 30 years and has cast over 8000 commercials!   He is one of the most successful and respected commercial casting directors in NY!  Voted best commercial class by Backstage readers.  Don't miss this amazing opportunity to work with and network with this huge commercial CD ! 

 

April 24, 2016 Christina Wright -  Learn how to break down a script, and most importantly keep it real. Many actors have a tendency to suddenly start "acting" when the camera turns on. Learn how keep it "real" and give an amazing audition.  Christina has experience as an agent (in a top NYC agency), she helped find talent for Nickelodeon and now is in the casting and coaching field! February 28, 2016 - Commercial workshop with Angela Mickey.  Angela is the senior casting director of Liz Lewis casting in NYC.  She worked with everyone on how to view a commercial., what things you can read into it to give your best performance.  She was able to run through several commercials with each attendee and held a very informative Q and A session.  Liz Lewis casting is one of the biggest commercial casting agencies in NY and LA. .

 

February 7, 2016 - Agent workshop with Owner and founder of Metropolis Artists Agency, Marius Bargielski.  Three small groups (one specifically for SAG/Aftra members) met and worked with him both in a group and then individually.  He explained what an agent does, why an actor needs one and what agents look for in their talent.   

 

November 14, 2015 - Monologue workshop with casting director Susanne Scheel.  Small class size of 8 spent 2.5 hours working on monolouges and on-camera delivery of them.  Susanne Scheel is with Ellen Chenoweth casting.  Credits include working with the Coen brothers on "Hail, Caeser!", as well as award winning films such as The Blind Side and The Decendents. 

 

October, 2015 - Masters workshop with bi-coastal casting director Matthew Maisto.   Class worked on scene study and breakdown and perfecting their audition techniques.  Credits include The Hobbit, Wolf of Wall Street, The Foxcatcher and many more.

April 25, 2015 - Television auditioning class with Assistant Casting Director Kimbery Graham with Judy Henderson Casting. Credits include Homeland, Avatar and many others. 

 

March 29, 2015 - Commercial and TV auditioning class with Casting Director Rachel Reiss of Liz Lewis Casting Partners (LLCP), Sunday, March 29th.  LLCP casts film, TV, voiceovers, and commercials nationwide.
